Jennifer Lawrence Headed For 'Ends Of The Earth'

Although it's hard to believe that "Hunger Games" leading lady Jennifer Lawrence has time for any other film projects aside from "Games" sequel "Catching Fire" and "X-Men" follow-up "X-Men: Days of Future Past," the Oscar nominee has reportedly lined up another starring role in the romantic drama "The Ends of the Earth."

According to Variety, Lawrence is in talks to star as Lydie Marland, an American socialite who sparked controversy when, at age 28, she married her adopted father, oil baron E.W Marland, who was 54 at the time. The film is reportedly based on the love affair that ultimately destroys the empire they built together. The character of Lydie is billed as an educated, headstrong woman who urges "her husband to raise workers' wages and give them unprecedented access to medical care." She earns the nickname of "princess of the prairies."

There is no word yet on which actor might star opposite Lawrence or on a production start date, which might be difficult to pin down given Lawrence's busy filming schedule this year and next.

In addition to "The Ends of the Earth," we'll be seeing Lawrence back on the big screen very soon, thanks to roles in next month's horror thriller"House At The End Of The Street" co-starring Elisabeth Shue and David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook", an adaption of Matthew Quick's book in which she plays a damaged young woman who befriends a newly released mental patient (Bradley Cooper). Lawrence will team up with Cooper again for the indie drama "Serena," in which she plays the barren wife to the leader of a timber empire.
