After a more than two week silence of casting announcements, Lionsgate revealed Friday that Jeffrey Wright has been cast as Beetee in The Hunger Games:Catching Fire.
Beetee is the District 3 male tribute known as "Volts" and returns to the Hunger Games arena in Catching Fire alongside Wiress (Amanda Plummer).
Wright is a critically acclaimed actor with a long list of past film credits, including notable turns in two James Bond movies: Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, as well as other movies such as Syriana, W, and Source Code. His next film role is the political thrillerBroken City, alongside Mark Walhburg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
