Lionsgate has announced that Maria Howell (THE BLIND SIDE and televisions ‘Army Wives’, ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’) will join Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. Maria Howell will play Seeder, a former victor from District 11. Seeder doesn’t have a huge role in the sequel, but she is most known for being one of the first tributes Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) wants to align with because she assures Katniss that both Thresh’s and Rue’s families were safe after the uprising in District 11. Still a couple more tributes to cast but the big question mark that remains is who will play Finnick Odair? He’s one of the tributes who has the most significant part in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE as well as THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY. Hopefully we’ll find out this week.
